About this species

The dark vertical bars and a deeply forked tail distinguish this trevally. Schools move close to the seabed, though a solitary fish is often hunting. It takes crustaceans, molluscs and small fish.

Look for it over sand and around coral heads in lagoons and passes. The guide records it to about 60 m.
