About this species

Narrow golden lines run along the body, with a conspicuous yellow patch towards the rear. This Indo-Pacific fish lives in tropical and subtropical reef habitats, both inside lagoons and on the ocean-facing side.

By day, it may be alone or gathered with others. After dark the fish disperse to hunt small fish and bottom-dwelling invertebrates, including crustaceans and gastropods.
